Awards in the Chinese Cultural Centre’s Art Competition

Congratulations go out to Andrea El Hajj, Bell Rhina Houinato and Fatoumata Baba Jarjusey (Year 6 students) for winning second place awards in the Chinese Cultural Centre’s Art Competition, held as part of the celebration of the Happy Chinese New Year of the Snake. Their drawing represents a Chinese lamp, symbolizing ‘well-being’.

E.I.S. celebrated its array of cultures as students expressed joy in being part of a global community.

Through Origami, Years 6, 7 and 8 students have been developing the following skills and more.

Inspired by their Global Perspectives topic on the importance of Community Service, Year 6 decided to focus on serving their own school community through a cleaning project.

On Saturday, 21st November, several children represented E.I.S. splendidly at the Batizado held at the Capoeira Centre in Haie Vive. Certain children were inspired to write about their experience in the practice of this Afro-Brazilian martial art/dance.

World Food Day was marked in school with good thought, reflection and plans for action.
