On Valentine’s Day, Years 3 and 4 shared love and friendship

Ghadi El Hajj, Year 4

On Friday, 14th February 2020, we went on a field trip to Segbeya School for the Blind. The purpose was to celebrate Valentine’s Day with blind children.

When we got there the headmaster showed us Braille and how the students use computer. He was happy when he heard that we were going to sing for the blind children.

When the blind children came out we shared the bracelets we had made and the fruits we had brought and sang for them. They were very happy. So they started to dance. I felt happy and surprised at how they could dance.

It was time to leave so we told them we had to go. Some of them got sad and I felt sad too. So we told them the bracelets were for remembering us.

We arrived back at school at 10:15 and all of my friends were very sad, but our teacher said that maybe we will go there again.
