Valentine's Day

Love, by: Benet Lokossou, Year 3

My heart is all for you

Until my love is out

But love can never be out

And I am the one for you everyday

I kiss you.

What Is Love? By: Cyrian Kedowide, Year 10

Love, this alluring feeling

Irresistibly desired by one and all

Love, this emotion one does not choose

Uncontrollable, unavoidable, passionate and disastrous

Love, an act inevitable.

Can one refuse to love

Because one is afraid to suffer?

Then one must be afraid to sleep

Because one is afraid to die.

Love, a paradox.

Sometimes I think I need a spare heart

To feel what I perceive

Imagine love as a delicate flower

It opens when you nourish it with care

And blooms with time and experience

It’s the stem’s cry of beauty to the universe.

As with Love there’s nothing like loneliness

Because it lives over viewing experiences

Love is not just an, “I love you” or a “You look splendid.”

But it’s an, “If you fall, then we fall together.”

As if you didn’t sense it,

You wouldn’t feel that inner peace or bliss.

Love can be confusing, everything and nothing

When Love is so joyful, why does it give such heartbreak?

Love, poison to the heart, poison to the soul

Breaks your trust, leaving you wondering…

True Love, by Aina Xerri, Year 10

True love is a beautiful flame

That burns eternally

And none can dim its special glow

or change its destiny

True love speaks in tender tones

And hears with gentle ear

It gives with an open heart

It conquers fears

True love has no demands

Neither does it rule nor bind

And true love holds with gentle hands

The heart that it entwines.
