Welcome to the English International School
The English International School located in Cotonou Benin was founded in 2000. It is one of over 10,000 Cambridge International Schools established in over 160 countries worldwide. We are a co-educational day school providing an international education for children from the age of two until university admission age and have four departments.
Good behaviour and responsible citizenship are central to the operation of the school which was established on the principle of reciprocity. Students are expected to show care and consideration towards others, and to observe the codes of behaviour laid down by the school. The mission statement further outlines the aims of the school.
Educational achievement is of great importance to the school. The school is a member of the Cambridge International Primary Programme and the Cambridge Secondary programme. In Year Ten and Year Eleven students are prepared and entered for the Cambridge International Examination (CIE); IGCSE, which are widely recognised around the world by employers and higher education institutions. In Year Twelve and Year Thirteen students can continue their university preparation by studying towards and entering for the Cambridge International Examination (CIE); AS and A levels, which can be used to access leading universities worldwide.
Students’ progress is monitored internally by the teachers and externally through public examinations set by Cambridge International Examinations. It is our aim to provide a seamless education for children from the age of two until they enter university at the age of eighteen. The timetable also includes art, music, dance, drama, sports and extra curricular activities.
