Dear Parents,

Since the Information Newsletter regarding Cosy Pool was sent out on 15th January 2024, we have held swimming classes on two days – Thursday and Friday (18th and 19th January) of last week. I, therefore, wish to provide an update to reassure you of our commitment to ensure the consistent cleanliness of the pool which we use.

Last week, I personally watched while Mr. Etienne (who maintains the pool at the Novotel, and now does so at Cosy Pool) thoroughly cleaned the pool. I intend to do the same this week. Although it was reported that the suppressor for the shower had at one point been switched off, diminishing the flow of water, that issue has been rectified.

The following measures remain in place:

1. We will test the pool every Tuesday, so that, should there be a problem with the pH, we can correct it before swimming classes on Thursday. Following an adjustment to the pool pH made on Tuesday, we will test it once again on Wednesday so that we can ensure that the pool is at the correct pH for Thursday and Friday.

2. A deep clean of the changing room facilities will be made on Wednesday, with normal cleaning done on Thursday and Friday, before the students arrive at the pool. The cleaner will also check that the water pump is on so that the water pressure is adequate for the shower.

3. Any deficiencies identified by teachers will be reported as if they were internal work and maintenance and treated with the same urgency.

Swimming classes are an important part of our programme at school, and we intend for our students to fully reap the benefits of such lessons under safe and hygienic conditions.
