Dear Parents,

We wish all a fine entrance into the Chinese New Year of the Dragon, which begins tomorrow, 10th February. Teachers are also talking in classes about the ways in which other festivals in February are celebrated. For Valentine’s Day, children have enjoyed making decorations. Information regarding any special activities planned for the last afternoon before our half-term break will be forthcoming from Class Teachers.

Half-Term Holiday

Our half-term break will be from Thursday, 15th - 19th February (inclusive). We will return to school on Tuesday, 20th February.

Visit of Children from Saint Dominique Orphanage

We had a lovely visit from the Saint Dominique Orphanage on Wednesday, 7th February. Year 11 students were gracious organisers and displayed fine skills of hospitality and genuine care and love. Our thanks go out to you, parents, for your donations, and to the Saint Dominique Sisters and children who spread joy across the school field and shared love with us on that day.

Attendance and Punctuality

Good attendance and punctuality are keys to success in school. It has come to my attention that there are a few habitual latecomers in the Lower School. Children who arrive late to school not only miss important parts of lessons, but can also disrupt the class and teacher. We will now request that parents/carers of Lower School habitual latecomers collect a late slip from the school secretary in order for the child to be admitted to class. It is our hope that this will serve as a deterrent, and therefore be in the best interest of the child. Multiple cases of unexcused absences and tardiness are noted on end of term reports, school transfer documents and student recommendation forms.

While we wish happy celebrations to all, our strongest wish remains for world peace.
