Last week was quite an eventful one, with Pancake Day and Swimming Gala only a few days apart. It is also hard to believe that we have already passed the 100 days in school mark. Reception and Year 1 celebrated that milestone on the 5th of March energetically and artistically.
As we now approach the end of term, I give you the following dates and reminders for your diaries:
School Fair – Saturday, 22nd March 2014, 15:00 – 19:00 on the School Field
The countdown is on! Please note that the School Fair will begin at 15:00. Raffle (tombola) tickets are now on sale. You may buy them from teachers and at the entrance on the day of the fair. We count on your support and look forward to seeing you there to enjoy the fun games, delicious food, entertainment and grand tombola.
World Water Day – Saturday, 22nd March
The international observance of World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We shall acknowledge this day in school on 21st March. We encourage parents to explore and discuss this day’s importance at home to reinforce the focus placed on it in school. This year’s theme is Water and Energy.
Child Progress Conferences, Monday 24th March
Child Progress Conferences will be held on this day for all parents. Lower, Middle and Upper School teachers will send out appointment slips to correspond with their desired meeting times.
Fancy Hat Parade – Thursday, 27th March, 9:00 a.m.
Parents are cordially invited to this event which traditionally marks the end of the second term. Please join us in the Lower School Garden to watch the colourful parade of creative hats. Swimming Gala awards will also be presented at this time. The end of term holiday will begin immediately following the event. If you are not planning to attend the event, please make sure to have your child picked up at 10:30 a.m.
Letters with re-inscription forms were sent out last week in an effort to begin planning for the next academic year (2014 – 2015). We remind you to return your form as soon as possible if you wish to guarantee a place for your child in the upcoming school year.
The break between the second and third terms will last until Wednesday, 2nd April, on which day classes will resume.
