I would like to extend a warm welcome back to the entire school community and give my wishes for peace and good health in the New Year. We have a few new school families to whom I extend words of welcome and wishes for success in their new situations.
Please make note of the following information and dates:
Capoeira Batizado – Saturday, 4th January, 16:00, Centre Culturel Chinois
There will be a ceremony during which students in the Capoeira Group (after-school activity) will receive their cords, which indicates their having achieved the first or subsequent level of grading. The ceremony / presentation will involve demonstrations of this Brazilian martial art / dance with music and singing. You are welcome to come out to support our children and be entertained.
Public Holiday – Friday, 10th January
School will be closed on this day to honour traditional religions in Benin.
Public Holiday – Monday, 13th January: Maouloud
This date of the celebration of the birth of the Prophet Mohammed is probable.
Sign-up sheets will go out next week and most activities will have resumed by the week of 13th January. Activities Coordinator, Ms. TobiInegbenijie can be contacted if you have questions regarding such. Kindly make sure that your child is picked up promptly after activities at 4:00 p.m. Younger siblings should not be left to wait around for older siblings participating in activities.
These examinations for Year 11 and Year 12 students will begin in the last week of January. We count on the cooperation of all at school during this time to provide support and encouragement to their fellow students. More detailed information will be forthcoming to those involved.
We have been pleased to see several of our EIS alumni returning to school to visit and share their experiences and memories with teachers and students. We are proud of how well our alumni are doing in their various careers and institutes of higher learning. We wish them continued success in their endeavours.
