It was wonderful to see our children ‘shine’ in the Multicorps dance performance at the Palais des Congrès on 25th May. Congratulations to the dancers and to teachers, Valérie d’Almeida and Marcel Gbeffa!
As we are in our last month of the school year, I would like to call your attention to the following events and information:
Shakespeare’s The Tempest – Wednesday, 12th June in the Lower School Garden at 19:00
Year 10 students look forward to entertaining you with their performance on this evening. (Rain date will be Thursday, 13th June.)
International Day – Friday, 14th June (School finishes at 12:00 on this day)
We will celebrate our school’s cultures and traditions on this day by presenting singing, dancing, poetry and traditional dress in the Lower School garden, beginning at 8:15. Following the parading and performing, we will invite you to ‘tour the countries’ set up in classrooms before ending with a sampling of food from around the world.
Contributions of your country’s savoury or sweet dishes, as well as ornaments, cloth, flags, etc. are greatly appreciated. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to join in the preparation for International Day at school on the afternoons preceding the event.
Cambridge IGCSE and A-level examinations will end on 10th June. Results for these examinations will be out in August. Year 6 and Year 9 students will be given their Statements of Achievement for Cambridge Checkpoint Tests in English, Mathematics and Science once the school receives them directly from Cambridge. The internally-monitored Cambridge Progression Tests for years 3 – 5 and 7 & 8 in English, Mathematics and Science will be available by the last week of term. Parents are welcome to discuss their children’s results with teachers at the Child ProgressConferences (27th June) or by making an appointment with the teachers concerned.
Summer Parties – Friday, 21st June
Infants, Lower, Middle and Upper Schools will mark the end of the school year with celebrations at given times and venues on this day. More detailed information will be forthcoming.
Reports Out and Child Progress Conferences – 26th and 27th June
Reports will be sent home with children on Wednesday, 26th June. Child Progress Conference appointment times will be arranged for meetings with Lower School teachers. Parents will meet with Middle and Upper School teachers in turn from 15:00 – 17:00.
Last Day of Term / Prize Giving – Friday, 28th June, 9:00 – 10:30
Our farewell ceremony on this official last day of school will be held in the CCF (Institut Français – Paillote). We ask parents to kindly take their children directly to the Institut Français just before9:00. School will end immediately following the ceremony, so please make sure thatunaccompanied children are collected promptly from the Institut Français. We look forward to seeing you there. We ask parents to kindly inform teachers if, for certain reasons, they will need to travel before the final day.
