English International School Newsletter of the 13th January 2023

Dear Parents,

We have now settled into our second term in school and anticipate an exciting and productive remainder of the academic year.

Please note the following information and reminders:

International Day – Friday, 27th January

We will celebrate our cultures and traditions within school on this day. Class teachers will organise events during the day as they pertain to their groups. Contributions of your country’s savoury or sweet dishes, as well as ornaments, cloth, flags, etc. are always appreciated.

Institut Français

The Institut Français programme for the months of January, February and March is now out and available at the Institut, online and posted in school. The programme during these months includes concerts, theatre and dance performances, films, exhibitions, storytelling and more to appeal to all ages.

School Uniform and Physical Education

Please remind your children to be prepared for school and sports lessons with the appropriate uniform and kit, as stated on the school website. Physical education is part of the school programme. If a child is unable to take part in the lesson on a particular day, a note must be sent from the parent / guardian to the class teacher, requesting that the child be excused due to a valid reason.

After-school Activities

After-school activities began this week, with a range of activities on offer. We encourage children to actively pursue non-academic interests, which keep them fit, help them de-stress and enable them to cultivate new hobbies and talents. You may find the description of activities and the instructors’ contacts on the school website. Payment to the instructors is due at the start of the activity.
