We wish Happy Diwali to our school families and thank the children for the wonderful information that they shared about the Hindu festival of light in Assembly.
Over the half-term break, Lower and Middle School teachers took part in professional development workshops in the areas of Special Needs and Learning Objectives. There will be a continuation of the workshops next term.
Mrs. T. and I were pleased to have the opportunity to share a portion of the morning with Reception and Nursery parents who attended the Coffee Morning this week. All Lower School parents will be honoured in turn at this intimate and informal sharing of coffee, tea, cakes and conversation.
The invitation remains open to call in for an appointment with me, with Mrs. T. (Assistant Head) or with your child’s class teacher if you wish to discuss your child’s programme or have queries of any nature. You may seek assistance from the school secretary to make such appointments.
Please note the following information:
Reports Out and Child Progress Conferences
Reports will go out on Thursday, 3rd December. Please note for your advance planning that Child ProgressConferences will be held on Friday, 4th December. Lower and Middle School teachers will send out appointment letters closer to the date. Upper School teachers will meet with parents in turn (17:30 – 19:30) on the evening.
School Arrival and Dismissal
We ask your consideration regarding the guards’ instructions to keep a smooth flow of traffic (no reversing of vehicles). The guards have also been instructed to only raise the security barrier for residents entering and leaving. Such instructions are given for the safety of our children and also out of respect for our neighbours. Kindly request the cooperation of your drivers on this issue. The school dismissal time for children not participating in After-School Activities is 2:45 pm. Please make sure that your children are picked up promptly.
We have noticed at school that some of the children are bringing small, plastic Possotome (or other brand) bottles to school rather than a thermos or flask, which keeps water cold and is more practical and reusable. Please discuss the advantages of a thermos or flask with your child.
