We are now in the Chinese New Year of the Rooster, we have celebrated Valentine’s Day, and we are looking ahead to Mardi Gras. I take the opportunity to extend more wishes of peace, good health and prosperity.
As we have completed half of our second term and the year is ‘rolling along,’ I would also like to remind you of my availability to meet with parents, should any questions or concerns arise. If you wish to meet, kindly call the school secretary to arrange an appointment. The teachers and I welcome your input and feedback and we count on your collaboration to maintain a healthy and productive learning environment for our children.
Please note the following information and upcoming events:
There will be no classes on Thursday, 16th and Friday, 17th February for our half-term break. Classes will resume on Monday, 20th February.
Swimming Gala – Friday, 3rd March 2017, Hotel du Port
The Swimming Gala will be held on Friday morning, 3rd March. More detail regarding times of races per class will be forthcoming from teachers. Do plan to come out and cheer on our children as they compete and reach their swimming challenge goals.
School Fair – Saturday, 18th March 2017, 15:00 – 19:00 on the School Field
Please mark the date in your agendas and see your child’s class teacher if you wish to join in the preparation and activity on the day. Last year’s fair was a big success, and we look forward to more of the same and more for this year.
We have entered what has been known as the hottest, most humid season in Cotonou, which is the period that precedes rainy season. Teachers discuss with children the importance of drinking sufficient water to keep hydrated. Please make sure that your child comes to school with a large flask / bottle filled with water to keep hydrated during playtimes. Water dispensers and cups are available in school buildings and children are encouraged to drink if they become thirsty during class. We have explained to children why it is not hygienic to fill their flasks / bottles at the spout of the dispensers.
Thank you for your cooperation.
