At the start of a new academic year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new school families and welcome back those who have been with us.
As we look forward to an exciting and productive academic year, we also welcome the following new teacher to our staff:
Mrs. Régine Romain – Years 8 and 9 Class Teacher / English, History, Geography
This is the first of many letters that you will see posted on our website and on the school announcement boards to inform you of what is going on in our school community. I encourage you to also check your children’s homework diaries on a regular basis to see if their teachers have included messages to you. Please make it a priority to keep up with the latest information.
Please review the calendar for this school year, and note the following information:
International Day of Peace – 21st September
We will observe this day in school in various ways, in classes and as an entire school family. The United Nations General Assembly has declared 21st September as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples
After-School Activities will begin next week. A variety of physical, arts and enrichment activities are on offer this term. For further details, visit our school website. Please note that children who take part in activities are to be picked up from school promptly at 16:00. Siblings who are not engaged in activities must be picked up at 14:45.
Swimming, tennis, games and dance are part of the Lower School programme. Middle and Upper School students choose from those activities for their Friday Physical Education class. If your child is unable to take part in a physical activity on a given day due to illness or other reasons, kindly put this intention in writing, addressed to the class teacher. Mens sana in corpore sano!
Orders are still being taken for school uniforms and will continue to be delivered to children. If any adjustments are necessary, the Secretary will be able to contact the school tailor. We ask that parents make sure that their children are dressed properly and neatly before leaving for school.
Thank you for your cooperation.
