We are pleased to mark the 48th anniversary of Earth Day in school, the theme (2018) of which is End Plastic Pollution. We are reinforcing in school the importance of the “3Rs” – Reduce, Re-use and Recycle to help save our planet.

Cambridge International Examinations
Externally moderated Checkpoint Examinations for Years 6 and 9 will take place on 23rd, 24th and 25th April. Afterwards, the papers will be promptly dispatched to Cambridge, United Kingdom for correction. Parents will be contacted to retrieve certificates and discuss their children’s results once they have arrived in school from Cambridge.
The IGCSE and Advanced-LevelExamination period will begin on 2nd May. Upper School students have received their exam timetables. Questions regarding timetables and related matters may be addressed to the Examinations Officer, Mr. Armand Sossouhounto.
The internally moderated CambridgeProgression Tests in English, Maths and Science will be administered in early June to Years 3 – 5 and 7 – 8.

Although the examination period is a busy one, I remain available to meet with you to discuss any issues of an academic or social nature concerning your child. Kindly request an appointment with the school secretary.

Oxford Royale Academy Regional Bursary Winner: Uriel Gansou, Year 11
For the second consecutive year, an E.I.S. student has been chosen to represent Benin at the Oxford Royale Academy SummerSchool on a full bursary. This year, we heartily congratulate Uriel Gansou, Year 11.
Due to issues with the Hotel du Port Management, we have been unable to confirm the Swimming Gala so far. We are hoping to be able to announce a date in May.
Mrs. Aïcha Mehablia has officially announced that her next residence will be in Canada, as her husband’s contract will be ending. We shall continue to enjoy the last months of her dedication to school and devoted teaching of our children.
We congratulate teacher, Mrs. Juliet Anibaba, on the birth of her baby girl.
