Greetings to all in the Chinese New Year of the Sheep! I take the opportunity to extend more wishes of peace, good health and prosperity.
As the year begins to ‘roll along,’ I would also like to remind you of my availability to meet with parents, should any questions or concerns arise. If you wish to meet, kindly call the school secretary to arrange an appointment. The teachers and I welcome your input and feedback and we count on your collaboration to maintain a healthy and productive learning environment for our children.
Please note the following information and upcoming events:
Swimming Gala – Friday, 6th March, Hotel du Port
The Swimming Gala will be held on the morning of 6th March. Do plan to come out and cheer on our children as they compete and reach their swimming challenge goals.
The Globe Theatre’s Production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet – Sunday, 8th March 2015 at 16:00
I am excited to report that I have been in touch with the Associate Producer of London’s Globe Theatre on their World Tour of Hamlet. On their two year ‘Globe to Globe Tour,’ the company has made its plan to stop in Cotonou, Benin on the weekend of 7th – 8th March. We have arranged for them to perform Hamlet on the School Field on Sunday, 8th March at 4:00 p.m. The performance will be free, but a donation basket will be passed around to help cover the company’s touring costs. Please make sure to mark the date on your calendars and plan to come out for a special evening. More information about the Globe Theatre tour can be found at: http://globetoglobe.shakespearesglobe.com/
School Fair – Saturday, 21st March 2015, 15:00 – 19:00 on the School Field
The time is here to follow up on raffle (tombola) prizes and plan the delicious dishes which will be brought out on the day. I will also remind you about gathering the second-hand books and toys that you may wish to donate. Last year’s fair was a big success, and we look forward to more of the same and more for this year.
