Dear Parents,

Today is World Water Day. We acknowledge this day in school, and we encourage parents to explore and discuss this day’s importance at home to reinforce the focus placed on it in classes. This year’s theme is: Water For Peace.

Child Progress Conferences

Conferences have been going on this week, and some will continue into early next week.

Cambridge Externally Moderated Examinations

External Primary and Lower Secondary Checkpoint Examinations for Year 6 and Year 9 will be held from 22nd - 25th April. (Mock examinations, to familiarise children with the process, have been held this week.)

Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A-level Examinations will begin on 25th April and run through 13th June. Students in Years 11 – 13 have received their exam timetables.

Holi

The Hindu spring festival of colour, celebrated on the full moon day, will be on Monday, 25th March. The significance of the day will be discussed in school and honoured through certain activities.

DELF (Département de Langue Française) Exams – Institut Français

DELF exams begin next month, with different dates scheduled depending on your registration. E.I.S. French teachers have provided information at school, along with encouraging participation to receive this qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education. Further information regarding these exams may be obtained at the Institut Français.

End of Term ‘Fancy Hat’ Making

This is a tradition in school which takes place at the end of the second term, and allows children to express their creative talent. Teachers will organise parading of the creations within their groups and photos will be taken to display in the Yearbook.

Class Timetables

Attendance and participation in all lessons on your child’s timetable (including physical education, music, etc.) are required. Exemption from a lesson at a given time, due to a valid reason, must be requested by means of a note from a parent or guardian.
