As we approach the end of the month of May, I would like to call your attention to the following events and information:
MulticorpsDance Performance (Peace By Love) – Saturday, 23rd May, Palais des Congrès
We look forward to your presence at this grand dance performance, featuring several of our children and under the direction of teachers, Valérie d’Almeida and Marcel Gbeffa. There will be two performances: Peace (involving mainly younger children) at 15:30 and Love (mainly older children) at 20:30.
Public Holiday – Pentecost: Monday, 25th May
Children’s Day – Wednesday, 27th May
Information from class teachers will be forthcoming on how the children will mark this day at school.
Performance – Moliere’s Tartuffe: Friday, 5th June, 17:00 in the Lower School Garden
Middle School students plan to entertain you on this evening in their performance of this classic.
Cambridge International Progression Tests – 8th, 9th , 10th June
These tests in Mathematics, English and Science will be administered to children in Years 3,4,5,7 and 8. Teachers have informed the children of this. The tests assess the learning objectives from the relevant stage of the curriculum framework and allow teachers to follow the progress of their students over time. Teachers are thus able to analyse performance within their classes and against a standardised international cohort. The tests are marked internally and can be used to provide diagnostic feedback for each class and each student.
International Day – Friday, 12th June (School finishes at 12:00 on this day)
We will celebrate our school’s cultures and traditions on this day by presenting singing, dancing, poetry and traditional dress, beginning at 10:00 on the school field. Contributions of your country’s savoury or sweet dishes, as well as ornaments, cloth, etc. to decorate the booths, are greatly appreciated.
Fundraising for Nepal’s Earthquake Victims
We have initiated a modest fundraising effort to aid Nepal’s earthquake victims. Middle and Upper School students have held mufti days and some Lower School classes will hold sponsored spelling and maths events. We appreciate your donations and support.
