Dear Parents,

We greet you in the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit, as those celebrations have already begun.

We had a beautiful display of unity in diversity at the E.I.S International Day on Friday, 27th January. Throughout the school there were presentations and performances which highlighted the cultures, costumes and creativity of the many countries which we represent. We thank you for your support and encouragement of this spirit and for the contributions of so many delicacies.

Half-term holiday

The half-term holiday this year will start on Thursday, 16th February and continue through the weekend. Classes will resume on Monday, 20th February.

Institut Français – DELF Examinations

DELF examinations, administered at the Institut Français in Cotonou, are official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education certifying level of fluency in French. We encourage students and parents to consider the value of such a qualification which is valid for university applications, future careers and is a good a motivator to improve French language skills. The schedule for this year’s DELF examinations is now out. Further information will be provided by E.I.S. French teachers, as well as directly through the Institut Français.

After-School Activities

After-school activities are in ‘full swing.’ Payment should be made to instructors at the start of each term. Kindly make sure that your child is picked up promptly after activities at 4:00 p.m. Younger siblings should not be left to wait around for older siblings participating in activities or to just join in an activity without commitment and payment having been made.
