Teachers welcomed smiling faces back at school after the half-term break. We will all continue the rest of the term fresh and eager to learn and share ideas.

COP 27

The 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change has begun in Egypt and we at school are promoting awareness of the event and drawing connections to our year’s theme, Back to Nature. We hope for a productive summit with strong and lasting commitment to goals.

In Fond Memory:  Annemarieke Eijsberg De Groot, May 3, 1959 – November 1, 2022

It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing on of former E.I.S. teacher and parent, Annemarieke Eijsberg De Groot, in her home country, The Netherlands. She lived in Benin with her family from 2006 – 2012 and taught the Reception class for a few years during that time. Current E.I.S. students and alumni may surely remember learning to sing “The Impossible Dream” with Mrs. De Groot, as well as the daily song, “Who Has Come to School Today.” They might also remember reading the book, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” and acting it out for an audience. Other memories of dear Mrs. De Groot for students, teachers and parents would surely include her active participation in our School Fairs, her radiant smile and her bicycle rides to and from school.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to her husband, Carel and her children and grandchildren.
