Happy Earth Day – 22nd April!
We are pleased to mark the 47th anniversary of Earth Day in school, the theme (2017) of which is Environmental and Climate Literacy. We are reinforcing in school the importance of the “3Rs” – Reduce, Re-use and Recycle to help save our planet.
Please note the following information and upcoming events for your diaries:
Cambridge International Examinations
Externally moderated Checkpoint Examinations for Years 6 and 9 will take place on 25th, 26th and 27th April. Afterwards, the papers will be promptly dispatched to Cambridge, United Kingdom for correction. Parents will be contacted to retrieve certificates and discuss their child’s results once they have arrived in school from Cambridge.
The IGCSE and Advanced-LevelExamination period will begin on 2nd May. Upper School students have received their exam timetables. Questions regarding timetables and related matters may be addressed to the Examinations Officer, Mr. Armand Sossouhounto.
The internally moderated CambridgeProgression Tests in English, Maths and Science will be administered on 29th, 30th and 31st May to Years 3 – 5 and 7 – 8.
There is a full programme of concerts, films, exhibitions, performances and Saturday fun events during the months of April, May and June. You may consult the Cotonou Culture board behind the secretary’s office or request to see the programme at the Institut Français.
March and April are known to be the hottest and most humid months in Cotonou and temperatures seem to have become higher at this time in recent years. Teachers are alert and are making sure that children stay hydrated during the day. Please ensure that your child comes to school with a bottle full of water.
The provisional school calendar for Academic Year 2017 – 2018 is now out. You may consult the school website for next year’s information and events. Hard copies of the calendar are also available in the secretary’s office. When making travel plans, please note that the next academic year will begin on Thursday, 14th September2017.
