Dear Parents,

As the final week of the first term of academic year 2023 – 2024 approaches, E.I.S. staff and I wish to express our gratitude to our E.I.S. families for their support throughout the term, and extend our compliments of the season to all, with wishes of peace good health and fulfilment.

We also thank those of you who contributed to our collection of items and donations for children in need. Our donations will be going to the children of the Saint Dominique Orphanage in Azowlissé, outside of Porto Novo.

Please note the following information and reminders:

Drama Club Presentation

We congratulate the After-School Drama Club for the performance of their production, Do Not Judge A Book By Its Cover, on the afternoon of 30th November. We also thank the parents for their support of this after-school activity event.

Reports Out and Child Progress Conferences

Reports will go out tomorrow, Friday, 8th December. Teachers have begun setting times with parents for Child Progress Conferences to be held either in school or virtually.

Last Day of Term (Half Day) – Friday, 15th December

The first term of academic year 2023 – 2024 will end at 11:45 a.m. Children will be allowed to come to school in Christmas coloured mufti. Class teachers will have fun activities of the season planned for an enjoyable morning. Looking ahead, the new term will begin on Thursday, 4th January 2024.

Physical Activities

Physical activities (P.E., Games, Swimming) are an important part of the school programme and essential for good health. Looking ahead to next term, please remember that a note from home is required if your child needs to be excused from taking part in a physical activity lesson on a given day.

Preparing for next term - Reminder

In preparing for next term, I refer you to the Uniform and Equipment section of our school website. Please devote ample time to making sure that your child has the correct uniform and footwear, and that your child will be ready to come to school neatly dressed and groomed. It is important to note that certain hair attachments/styles are not appropriate for school and could be hazardous when working in the science laboratory.

Blood Donation Drive

The Medical Clinic, Missigbe, is holding a blood donation drive during this season on 15th December from 9:00 – 15:00. For more information, you may contact them on 60.01.72.72.
